Barone appeared in the fourth-season Seinfeld Episode The Shoes as Gail Cunningham Chef who was seeking Elaine Benes shoes. Barone was in the crew for the television show Carol & Company in early 1990s along with the actress Carol Burnett. Barone was also Carol Willick Ross Geller's ex-wife during the first time she appeared on Friends. Jane Sibbett was her replacement as Barone left Friends in order for a job that demanded additional time. Barone was a part of The Jeff Foxworthy Show for The first season (1995-1996) and also in The War at Home from 2005 to 2007. In 2000, Barone has also appeared in the sitcom Daddio. Barone also has credits in television shows, such as Desperate Houswives Quantum Leap Empty Nest Chicago Hope Castle Do Not Disturb Ally McBeal Caroline the City Party of Five The Larry Sanders Show. Barone received the Methodfest Best Supporting Actress Award 2004 in recognition of her role in the feature film One Last Ride. Barone began her character as the mother of Bella Thorne's CeCe Jones in 2010 three years after the ending of The War at Home. Matthew Glave, Barone's husband and actor Matthew Glave guest starred as J.J. Jones in two episodes.
